About the Author:
Andile July Marau was born on the 25th of May 1993 in Upington, South Africa, though his parents originally came from Namibia. He later moved to the Eastern Cape province, where he grew up and became independent. Raised by a single mother, Thenjiwe Emma Marau, who sadly passed away in 2003, Andile’s childhood was marked by loneliness and struggle. The pain of his mother’s death left a deep emotional scar, which eventually manifested through anger and hopelessness. Diagnosed with autism, he faced challenges in understanding and controlling his emotions, which led to devastating consequences. After a tragic event, Andile was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment. Within the confines of prison, he discovered writing as a means of healing and expression. Through his debut book, he shares his story with honesty and courage, aiming to help others understand autism and the importance of love, forgiveness, and self-awareness.
